Voice Delay while Gaming

I am noticing the same thing too with all the users on our server. This started within the last two weeks, and it started after a reboot, which included Windows updates.

I have confirmed several others are experiecing the delay on our server. My latency on the server is only like 35-40ms. Others are near that same latency as well, but when we talk thered is an obvious ~2 second delay before our voices are actually heard, which means we end up stepping on each other in voice chat.

Of course I have updated all my drivers, including Windows 10, sound drivers, motherboard, Discord, iCUE, and anything else I can think of. I even made exceptions in my security suite software, but still have the same result.

Same problem here, I play in the same room as my roommate and 2 out of 3 voice comm's are delayed by 4-5 seconds.

I have also uninstalled and reinstalled, updated drivers. I use a Corsair headset also, might be ICUE screwing up with discord again. I swear ICUE is the most anti-discord friendly software.

EvilPeppard try uninstalling iCUE, I don't know why but Discord don't like Corsair software.

Thanks for the reply! I run iCUE to run my Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO. Not sure how I would control my water cooler if I don't have iCUE installed.

As a test, instead of uninstalling iCUE, could I just 'Quit' the iCUE software and see if my delays go away in Discord?

I think "Quiting" the iCUE may not work as uninstalling. After turning off application in your computer will still stay drivers and other disliking Discord content of iCUE.

But I'm not sure, it's just my own supposition. Good luck!

I will try both ways; quitting, then uninstalling. I really hope that is the issue.

I am looking to see if there is a 'default' setting the Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO runs in without iCUE. Initial searches show it should run in 'balanced' mode, which is how I currently run it in iCUE.

    Thanks again for the suggestions!

So far I have done the following, and users are still experiencing delays in voice transmission, which in turn makes us talk over each other. Again, this started about two weeks ago.

So far I have done the following:

    1. Rebooted my router and all Google access points.
    2. Disabled services for all iCUE / Corsair items (3 services total) and closed the iCUE software, then rebooted.
    3. Added exception to Discord install folder in BitDefender.
    4. Turned off 'protection' in Acronis True Image 2021.
    5. Installed latest Windows Updates.

While things 'seemed' a little better last night, as the night grew on, the lag became more apparent. I have also verified the location of my server, currently US Central, with only a 34ms latency.

Any other suggestions at this point?

Something changed with Discord yesterday, 12/12/2020. Our group had no delay / voice lag yesterday, all day. We were on for 12 hours with 10 of us on and there was no delay. Two separate groups had more than one person in the same household, including me, and there was no voice delay.

Anyone else notice a change yesterday?

I posted this same info on another running thread here regarding the voice delay issues: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360051498874-Delay-with-voice

Try installing PTB or Canary client (experimental apps of Discord - https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035675191-Desktop-PTB-and-Canary-Clients), for me Canary reduced delay so now I can play normally and also catch bugs for Discord Staff 😀

Four days in and no delays with voice still.

I wanted to also add that four days ago I had also reversed the changes I stated I tried earlier while troubleshooting.

    I had:

    1. Re-anabled all services for iCUE (3 services total), and made sure the iCUE software was running.

    2. Removed the exception for Discord in BitDefender I created.

No voice delays with our group for the last four days, so the iCUE services and software were not culprit for me. Also, I prefer to have iCUE running since I have an H150i Pro water cooler, and I use Corsair keyboards and mice off and on.

    Hope this info helps others.
