We have a strict "no involuntary advertising" policy in our server. We cannot change the custom statuses of people, or hide them, so we have to resort to warning people about it and banning if they don't comply.

Involuntary advertising means that a user doesn't have to check your profile specifically to see what you're putting out there. Examples: linked accounts and about me.

I wholeheartedly agree. Discord should allow you to hide the custom statuses of people in servers with links in them. (including just .gg/<invite>) But hiding everything just ruins the purpose of the feature.

Another thing which could solve the issue is allowing you to move users to the bottom of the member list if they have a link in their custom status. This solves the involuntary advertising problem, since people have to scroll to the bottom now. You can do this by splitting up the "member" role into two and removing the higher one if the server status gets abused, but other higher roles are exempt from this possibility.
