Balance Nitro Boost with server owner priveleges.
Before Nitro Boosts existed, a server was essentially its owner's domain. The system of roles and permissions, and the recognition of individual users, and everything else, could ultimately be controlled, absolutely, by the owners, as long as the ToS was followed. Nitro Boosting has taken that away.
As it is now, boosting produces perks, an integrated role, and a badge. Unlike a bot's integrated role, the owner can't limit who can to opt into having it on the server, and they can't opt out of it. As for the badge, when it's on someone who isn't even an established part of the community, it can be as obnoxious as a Youtube verified badge or Twitter blue checkmark; it's always visible, and it draws the focus of the people conversing whether it's relevant or not. Boosting, itself, can enable petty self-righteousness and cause trouble when people think they're entitled. Then there may be times when someone would like to boost without drawing attention to him/herself. The perks alone don't mean a boosted server is objectively better.
The solution I would propose is 3 server settings that only the owner and administrators can edit.
First, a set of buttons similar to the verification level setting: Allow all boosts, boosts from roleless users require approval, all boosts require approval, and disable Nitro Boosting. The approval process would be the same as accepting or rejecting a friend request.
Second, a toggle to enable or disable the Nitro Booster role. Disabling would remove the role from the role list, and re-enabling it would restore the role to its default color and give it back to all active Nitro Boosters.
Third, a toggle to enable or disable the appearance of the booster badge beside names.
Quite simply, make sure that everyone who boosts a given server gets the same recognition, but let the owner have complete control of their own server again.

This is an excellent point and I agree wholeheartedly... but I seriously doubt it'll ever happen.
