Making it so muted channels do not show the red ping dot
I think we should have an option to disable any sort of ping from a channel, I personally think the mute option should get rid of all the red dots you get when you get pinged.

Agreed; the whole point I muted a channel was because I don't care what goes on in that channel. I'd be ok with direct mentions (@myusername) still triggering it, but stop showing the dot for @here or @groupibelongto

Exactly this.
The red dot just completely ignores your channels notification settings - you either turn it on for every single message posted in that server, or turn it off completely, even for channels that you care about.
I've missed important messages multiple times because of this very basic notifications problem.0 -
exactly, its either all or nothing! my server has many channels, some i care about, others i absolutely do not so why is that not an option?? theres no excuse!
