Custom iOS Notification Sounds for the App or individual channels

For iOS users we do not have the ability to change the standard Discord App notification sound which many of our discord users have had serious issues with hearing. The only option is to either turn sounds On/Off in the Sounds and Haptic area under settings but having the ability to set a custom notification sound for the app  and/or individual channels would make this app perfect not only for our but other Discord communities. This feature has been requested several times and is mentioned regularly in the Apple Store reviews. Although Android has the ability to change their App notification sound the iOS platform has not received such an update. Many Discords have several Channels which would be great to identify by ringtone/sound alone which is having a new message posted to, this would be a major improvement for all platform users if implemented!

    Please!!!  I am somewhat hearing impaired, and I miss more than a few messages.  Very frustrating.  It's clear we are not alone in wanting this.

    I googled about this and learned that this request has been made many times and the developers have indicated they don't intend to do it. I don't know, but I assume this is because discord is primarily aimed at PC usage - and primarily used intentionally (i.e. you're listening for it while focussed on a game or development, so you would want a less intrusive sound in that context and a loud notification is unwanted)? There's got to be *some* developer there who uses discord on their phone in other contexts...

    Perhaps we should suggest they start small - just allow us to change the universal sound that accompanies every message notification. Then, if we get that, we can focus on asking for more per-channel customization.

    Until yesterday, I have only rarely used discord, but since my Sprint/T-Mobile `email-to-sms` service just stopped working almost 2 weeks ago, I decided to go with a co-worker's suggestion and send my notifications via discord. I set up a server for my home automations yesterday and finished integrating it today and realized that the notification sound is too soft to reliably hear them.

    Personally, I would be happy if they just changed it to an audible sound.  Or just the default device sound.  Custom would be great, but It just needs to be made useable.  The current sound is no doubt contained in the app.  How about just changing that to a ding?
