Custom slash commands prefix
Hello everyone, today I will show you this idea which in my opinion makes everyone agree on slash commands:
A couple of days ago I happened to hear that one of the reasons why it would be risky to increase the limit of the slash commands, is because on old devices or in any case less powerful, typing the slash could create problems due to a large amount of data received, so I came to think so why not bring the prefixes into the slash commands?
For instance:
If I type !ban (without slash) I will get the ban command only for bots that use that prefix always with the same style of the slash commands.
By doing this, we could also consider an increase in the limit of the slash commands because the payload received would be significantly lower

Sadly, they've already outright denied custom slash command prefixes in their Slash Command Q&A

@Donovan_DMC But if we show them it's something we want, they're gonna have to change their minds

Good idea! I totally agree

still naive enough to think Discord actually cares about their community

I don't think they should. Custom prefixes were cool but they were born out of necessity; for your bot to sit there and scan all incoming messages there was no way to easily tell which messages were commands unless they were prefixed.
Now there is a clearly defined part of the API telling bots what are commands and what aren't, so that necessity is gone.
Besides that, from a UX standpoint, making every bot use a common prefix improves consistency and looks better. And since you can click on the bot in the left sidebar to filter its commands, the need for different prefixes is gone.
