Notifications not showing on phone sometimes when logged onto discord desktop

Sometimes I (and a friend) are not getting notifications on our phones, most notably when we have the desktop version of discord open.

    I think that is intentional... on the desktop the message is marked as read. The same thing is with Whatsapp Web too
