Problems In The New Android Update
The user experience on the current version of Discord for Android is well below the standards set by previous versions. To the point I'd consider it genuinely flawed design that actively works against the user.
My first issue, because this is the one that most immediately pains me, is the inability to scroll infinitely. You need to manually select the option to load in more messages past a certain threshold. This is an extreme hinderance if you want to follow a conversation in any fast moving chat, or even simply want to see something that was posted yesterday, or even a few hours ago.
The app is also very laggy, and unresponsive at the moment. The delay on bringing up menus to do things like react, change channels, or change servers is notable. As is the delay in actually going to a different channel or server.
The reaction menu has become cluttered as well. A lot of options that don't need to be there that I've seen confuse many users.
The UI has shrunk considerably for no real reason. Text and icons are smaller, and this fits more messages on the screen, but at the direct cost of clarity.

I have no idea how that unoptimized React Native garbage made it past quality checks, it's horrible!
The performance of the app went from good to unusable, it's not acceptable.
Everything lags to the point that inputs are skipped; this app is now TRASH.I used this tutorial on how to revert back to the old native android style app, and I'm sticking to it!
