Forums - Stop Expiring Posts and Allow Role Tagging

I run a large server that has many channels and categories. We thought forums were going to be the next big thing, but we have been open since December and are noticing now that forum posts made back then are now disappearing? Nowhere in the Forum FAQs page does it state that things expire, either, so that is completely unfair that now important posts have gone away.

Another thing is allow role tagging. Yes, we can tag individual people, but we cannot tag roles

    It would be nice to have role tagging for posting something like an event announcement, so people can be notified of a new event, then chat about it. Otherwise people must select [new posts], which could've at least been a default, since by default, people don't know it's even there. I thought it was going to be the next best thing for managing screen real estate - I made an events forum (like a cataloge), and created posts for each type of regular event so they would only be active when there's an event coming up for that series, but people can still browse. Then I figure out people don't even know about it
