Add beeper-like Matrix protocol integration

I'll keep this simple. I'm a discord power user. I don't like switching apps to talk to my friends who aren't on discord. If discord had a tab like the new Beeper app I would never leave. 

If you're worried about user retention, (which I don't think is a problem if the point is to bring more messaging into discord) then make it a nitro perk for all I care. 

I don't expect Discord to go all in on the fediverse, such a migration would probably be more trouble than it's worth anyway. But I think dipping your toes in the water and experimenting with ways to augment the core discord experience would be beneficial to everyone

    They should be worried about user retention lmao, what with people leaving in droves following all the mismanagement going on. Best bet? Take that exact suggestion to somebody who will actually care. May I suggest Revolt?

    I see your response has been deleted but thanks to the power of email I saw it anyway. I am not, in fact, a bot, and in the context of chat apps (specifically non-Discord ones) I thought the reasonable assumption would be the Revolt chat service: https://revolt.chat/

    No harm done, though. I'm just some guy who would like to believe they want what's best for the communities of any kind, and your (since removed) comment indicated I may not have been as clear as I wanted to be. One doesn't need to look far to see how unhappy people are with Discord, and how little an impact it has on the team- I'll reiterate, there are communities much more receptive to the desires of the people who use them.
