Basically a link that takes the person directly to the direct messages with a certain user, similar to a server invitation link

    I would just like to add some reasoning for why this feature would be helpful. For those who do commission work (art, animation, etc.) and do NOT wish to DM through Twitter or another platform, being able to direct someone to your profile on Discord is very helpful.

    Sure, you can direct users to a server instead, but that solution isn't elegant. I want a way to be able to send someone straight into a conversation with me from my Twitter bio, website, or any other platform of my choosing.

    Keeping track of DMs on 4 websites is exhausting.

    is there any link which can take you to a person's profile even if u haven't dmed them before?

    Please get this implemented.  Getting person to see something in particular channel more or less turns out 'send me the print screen, there are too many channels in that server'.  Please! :)

    Something like "WoW community server #guild_discussion" <- to be link that I can send in DM to friend that already is member of given server.

    To be absolutely clear, those links that "work", only work on your own personal account.

    If I copy the DM link from the browser (since I can't copy it on the app), and then I click the link (if I paste it somewhere) in the app, it does indeed work. However if someone else clicks the same link, they are not sent to a DM conversation with the person I was expecting to.

    The DM link is not a link towards the person you're speaking to, but rather to an "exclusive" channel just shared between both users (you and the person you're contacting), so the link will never work for someone else.

     

    My use-case: I'm using Server Captcha bot on most of the big servers I'm administering. While I have a very clear message that says: You have been sent a message from which will verify if you're a human person., and the @ works just fine, I wanted to have a link that would redirect the person straight to the DM with that bot. For "Discord noobs" it's not intuitive for them to click the @ and expect to be taken to the DM.
