Make the country code change automaticly if typed in manually.

(Addition to this post) If the country code is typed in manually in the spelling of '+#Code# ' change the selected code, or at least use it instead of the selected code so it will work anyway. For example, if you enter '+49 ' (Notice the space), the selected country code is changed to Germany.
