Can discord pfps get a higher resolution in chats?

So I recently found smth I wanted to pick as my pfp and it looks great on my profile, but in chats it just looks like a pixelated mess, can't there be a way to make pfps have a better resolution in chats? I'd love to be able to use that pic :c
