Discordapp.com copy pasting from other programs breaks formatting

Trying to copy paste something containing links from a separate text processor such as notepad or Microsoft Word seldom works if you use the website version of Discord.The formatting breaks completely. Spaces and line breaks get removed.

A couple of weeks ago an update added text formatting preview into the chat textboxes so that URLs gets highlighted and italic font are italic etc. Ever since this update copy pasting any formatted text gets garbled and doesn't work as it used to. The problem also occurs on this website for support.

  This happens even in programs that SUPPORT copied formatted text. Depending on how you do it, you can either preserve character formatting, OR line breaks. Not both. It's ridiculous.
