Dark and unclear on first sight

When I first tried Discord, the biggest problem was that the screen was so dark and the contrast of the texts was low. It was a PC screen and the lighting conditions in the room were sunny, so it was a trouble to try to figure out the functions of the screen. I couldn't find a way to change the "skin" or whatever it is called in Discord. I found the light/dark setting only later after I got an email asking for feedback.

A solution?   What comes to my mind is that an introductory window with the light / dark setting could pop up at the beginning of the first login. The same pop-up window could give basic information such as "You can find the Settings button down there".
