Show Spotify status while being afk

Whenever you listen to Spotify and go afk, the "listening to Spotify" status will automatically disappear. Why is that the case? When you go afk while having a game open, your status will still show the game once you get put into the "afk" mode. Why does it not work the same way for Spotify? It's really irritating me more than it should but I can't get my head around why you would make Spotify an exception to this.

Alternatively, I'd love to simply be able to decide whether I ever get put into the "afk" mode or stay online even if I don't touch anything for a bit. Because in most cases I -and surely many other people- still sit in front of my PC and either watch or listen to something etc. so practically I'm not even afk and I want to show that to people.
