black screen issue
5 days ago the discord required an update i clicked to update when it's updated i found this screen like that just black :

Hopefully this will help. I had the black screen issue as well. Windows 10.. Go into your task manager and go into details. sort by name and close any open discord apps open. I had 3 open on mine somehow. Once they are closed restart discord and hopefully that will fix it.

try opening task manager and end task for discord.
reopen. if it does not work, then try the windows 8 compatibility solution above.
if that does not work, uninstall, delete all appdata folders for discord (there should be 2 hidden, local appdata and appdata). reinstall and see if it works.

Went to %appdata% and deleted all the cache for discord. Fixed it for me.

Windows 10 here, nothing worked so I went into Task Manager and just ended all the Discord-related tasks, and it works fine now.

Ok, so if none of these other posts did anything for you, I have a trick that might work.
Hit the windows key and search 'Task Manager'. Once the task manager app is open, find the 'Discord 32 bit' tasks, right click on them and hit the 'end task' option. Once the tasks are ended, re-launch discord. 👍

What worked for me was first I uninstalled discord through control panel then I did windows+r typed in %appdata% and deleted the discord folder after that I just reinstalled it

I fixed It! To fix on Windows 10 just open discord open task manager then find the discord icon and right click it and end the task there! now y can re-open it and it should work!

I also had same problem on Win-7 32 bit
Fix: Right click on Discort app and go to its properties
: in Compatibility Tab , Change compatibility mode to ' Windows XP Service pack 2 '
: Apply
Run discord and now it will display fine

I'm on win 10 and just downloaded the latest update, got this issue, and none of the solutions posted thus far have worked for me.

I can fix problem for back screen.
I use this program to fix back screen.
You select discord progarm then choose Scanning modes to Advanced and select all files about discord then delete file temp
It so good.
Now i can use Normally.

To anyone still having this issue. You must throw away both of the appdata folders. users->YourUserName->appdata->roaming One is located in Local, the other is located in Roaming. The Roaming discord folder, is the one that keeps your session info, which is why it never works upon reinstall etc etc. I'd say with 99% certainty, this will work for those still having the problem.

If people are still having problems try going into task manager and ending all the discord tasks then reopening discord, that worked for me. I think when it updated there were still old background tasks open so closing them allowed the updated version to open.

just updated it today after restarting my laptop and came back to same thing for desktop version

I'm running on windows 10 and all I did was close out of discord completely. Then run as admin. Haven't had any issues

alguem consegue me ajudar por favorzinho? eu to muito preocupado! eu tentei dar login e quando eu consegui (por que o discord não senti os cliques do meu mouse) simplesmente foi pra uma tela preta e pronto! COMO EU CONSERTO ISSO PELA MOR DE DEUS !!! E COMO EU TIRO MINHA CONTA?!

found my quick solution was using chrome and kept getting black screen decided to try edge and voila no black screen....this was a new install since had no problems before with chrome one of those fussy compatible things...
