Background app refresh for mobile app

My call keeps on dropping because my iPhone XS closes it as it sees it as a background app. Apparently it is down to the developer to add functionality for me to be able to keep background app refresh turned on in my phone settings so please add this it would allow me to stay on calls for more than 5 mins.

  The same thing had happened with me I installed Firefox browser as I use it casually to go through some informational websites for study purposes but when I open some other apps the background apps automatically closes. I don't know what's happening there.
