When some images are uploaded to discord servers their names are changed to image0, or if many images are uploaded at once, image0, image1, image2, etc. This is really frustrating for servers which host image galleries because when I want to save those images to my pc I have to make sure to rename them each to something otherwise when I try to move them to an archive folder or save them somwhere, they will try to save over the previous files named image0 etc. This is a huge pain in the ass, can discord have a feature where it randomly generates names for these images?

I agree with this.
A simple non-privacy-threatening naming scheme could be just embedding the sha256 of the image, or some randomly generated UUID.

I agree. The iOS client is terrible, we need to add file names. Even if it's the default iOS file name, we still need em.

Yeah, it really is a pain in the ass. Just a randomly generated series of numbers and letters would be great

If a picture sent in dm's is named image0 means that its taken from a server or its just due to the other person using IOS ?

Finally we’ve been heard. We now have preserved file names.
