I like the concept, but this is giving power to server owners, admins, and/or mods to manipulate users' content. It's one thing to delete an off-topic comment, but to grant users the ability to move comments around, that's a slippery slope. I can imagine dozens of ways this can be abused and manipulated before thinking of benefits. Imagine making a comment in a thread weeks back that you've now forgotten about. I decide to move your comment into a new thread where the context of your message completely changes (for better or worse). We can't do this for messages sent in channels for a reason, and I don't see it happening with threads. Just imagine if bots could do this... Deleting and redirecting to a more appropriate thread is the best thing to do.

I agree that some would abuse it if not properly implemented. E.g. Admins and moderators could move a post into a thread, but it is ghosted as if deleted, and the author is notified. The author can then choose to accept the move which makes it visible again, or delete the post. If they do neither the post deletes after X time. This eliminates abuse.

Yes! I run a server for physicians and med students and most of them are not very familiar with discord. So even when there is a thread for a specific question or statement, most of them continue de conversation outside the thread.
It'd be awesome if we could do that.
