Threads feature is insufficient.

Threads are insufficient. Our community needs to access threads for longer than a week and/or be able to retrieve archived threads. Much like the functionality in Slack. We are trying to consolidate all our community platforms into one and had hoped Discord would be the venue for that but it really hinders our intentions do so if threads disappear so quickly and without retrieval options. Please consider adding this feature to threads.

    I think you're looking for channels, and it is possible to view archived threads. Messages that are used to create public threads show a thread if it is archived, and furthermore, the 1-week time is only from the last message, meaning you could send a new message every 5 days to keep a thread alive. If you really need permanency, make a category and add channels to it.

    There's an easy-to-miss button at the top of the window that lists both active and archived threads in the current channel. Unless a moderator explicitly archives a thread, you should be able to un-archive it by just posting a new message, removing the need to keep it alive at all. I think the archive period is mostly to prevent inactive discussions from appearing among the active ones.
