Auto-Reply to DMs (Possible Working Concept)
The following is a Theoretical Concept to add in Some Automation without the Feature being abused.
To set yourself to automatically reply to Direct Messages you go near the gear next to your name and open User Settings. In the User Settings Catagory for the settings page is a tab named Direct Messaging Options.
In this tab, we can open a drop-down menu that has all the servers we are in with a check box next to it. If we do not want to be sent a Direct Message from a server, we uncheck the box next to it. Below that is another section for Direct Message Automation.
In this section, you're met with a text box where you can put in your custom automated reply if someone is to Direct Message you. There are options for this text box, such as selecting the people who get this automated reply based on their mutual servers with you. We can reuse the same drop-down menu from earlier so that different mutual servers are uniquely customizable based on their community or purpose. Other options include whether or not to send this automated reply to them if you're able to actually respond to them yourself in X amount of minutes. If they already have gotten an Auto-Reply from you then they will not get another one for each message they send you after the first. This would help to prevent clutter. Another Option on this text box is a button to turn this Automatic Reply Message into an Embed Message. With some full customization, this would obviously open up more doors for the Automated Reply Message such as being able to put a photo in it in a professional way, URL links on the title/author, the color, ect. You know, cool embed things.
After customizing that Auto Reply Message you can save it and then kick back and relax. OR, we can now make a new one. We'll let Nitro Users (Gotta give Discord some money-making ideas so they'll actually put this in) be able to set up 3 of these messages. Can't have 2 for the same server obviously. But this new automated message we set up could be purposed for the servers that we didn't have checked on the last message we created. For example, You staff for a Minecraft Discord right? Someone who messages you and only shares that server with you will get the automated reply that you made for that server. Without Nitro, you could just leave the rest of the servers you are in unchecked so people don't get confused from an automated reply meant for a Minecraft demographic. BUT, if you have nitro, you can then set up 2 other messages that are meant for the other servers that you are in.
If you were patient enough to read through that and feel that this would be a great addition to the already intuitive platform we call discord then please upvote and make sure Discord sees this.

Well the issue with this, is something discord has been trying to stop forever, selfbots, this would essentially be a selfbot which they wouldn't want. If they did decide its ok, what dms would it reply to? How would you configure it to only work with certain dms? Think about those sorts of questions

It should be great. I've tried using the status message as a workaround, but people don't respect it or don't read it. So an automatic message is the “top-edge” solution.
