Give text channels unique icons in channel edit.
It would be great if text channels had different grey icons instead of hashtags that could be set in the channel editing window, it would be a great feature to nicely separate individual text channels, which is already the case for community channels like the announcements channel or the rules channel that have their own icons (everyone do this with emoji in the channel name anyway).

This is a wonderful idea, but there are a few problems with it. The announcement channels, etc would have an impact, or there could be an option in the channel settings to change the icons of each channel and the announcement channel could be a set default as a bullhorn icon.
If we had an area in the channel settings of which let users select an icon, instead of instantly changing it because of name, then more users would be in favour of the idea. Also, Discord may have a problem recognising the icons corresponding with the word in different languages as sometimes automatic translations in channels could go wrong.
The default icon would indeed be the hashtag, but users could change it in the channel settings, etc.
Anyways, it is a wonderful idea, and those are the changes that I would do if I were to implement this as a feature to discord.

I think you should think about translate, utilities for communauties and other,
Why not create a pack of new channels icons and don't change all of them ?
Then, it's a good idea.

Hi, yes you are right that it would make problems with translations. That's why I'm editing the post to request to introduce this option in the channel editing window.
