DM request

Often times servers like my own run a DM permission role. Such as "ask to dm", "closed dms", and "open dms". These roles typically serve as their own server enforced DM rules. However there is an incredible lack of understanding when it comes to it. I have had problems with members who either a. Did not read the roles, or b. Don't even know what roles are or lack the linguistic ability to understand them. Its also rather well known that self bots, scammers and dm advertisers on discord care very little for someone's dm preferences. My proposed solution for this is DM request. It would look exactly like friend requests, only for DMs. This should be a default feature that makes all users have to submit a DM request to any user before any message can be sent. This system is already popular as many people will start their conversations by submitting a friend request first. This will also double as a solution to dm invading in servers. Serving as a relief to the headaches of having to moderate an invisible threat. The larger the servers size the larger the target for them to occur. This would ease moderation effects for everyone.
