Having an option to give a reason for a leaving server.

Twitch has this feature for when you cancel a subscription you can let the broadcaster know why you cancelled. 

It could be an useful anonymous tool to help with moderation, to mitigate harassment, and to be aware of when specific server members/mods are making the discord server not be a fun and/or safe space. 

Many public discord servers and some Discord Partnered servers have a problem where the owner is oblivious to the problems of the server, and new members just leave without having their problems resolved. Sometimes I see owners of partnered discords try to drive engagement within the server to keep their status. I think it would be great feedback if server owners could know why specific members decided to leave the server.

There were times I left a server because some server members were making me uncomfortable and because of the hierarchy I am not able to let the owner know that I have this problem.

Examples:

  • I had a bad interaction with a server member.
  • I had a bad interaction with [role] or Moderator.
  • This server pinged me too much.
  • The emotes are not good.
  • I didn't feel included enough to warrant staying.

etc.

A report function would also be a welcome alternative to the 'Block' feature.

    Agreed for both suggestions. Having a message to say why you left a server could be very helpful for server owners for them to know where they can improve. It should also be toggleable in case some servers wouldn't want it.

    For the report function, I've wanted that for a long time. Reporting people is a time-consuming process since you have to leave discord and come here to write a whole essay about it to support, whereas if it were a button to press it would be much more easier and people would start reporting users against the Discord terms of use. Sure, it could be botted to send a hell load of reports, but you can fix that with a warning saying fake reports can lead to consequences and a captcha puzzle to get rid of bots.

    I think this is an improvement to the quality of discussion for leaving servers. This would give moderators a chance to address the issue with the member.
