Web3 Integration w/ Discord
I remember a bit ago Discord did a survey about NFT integration and stuff.
Ever since, I haven't been able to sleep at night because I've dreamt about people being able to link their Ethereum, Solana and Cardano wallets to Discord and then having the option to display your NFTs on your discord profile or something.
Discord I know you're interested: make the world a better place and become pro-NFT. Please.

Already cancelled my nitro on Mr.CEO's tweets supporting NFT discord integration alone and teasing the test build. Won't resub anytime soon unless yall shove that NFT integration plan in the trash where it belongs. Also shame on you for throwing ur employees under the bus and springing this news on them at the same time as everyone else.

NFT and crypto are essentially pyramid schemes burning through resources that accelerate our current climate crisis, are often used as part of money-laundering schemes and make computer components harder to acquire and afford. There is no moral way to support NFTs or crypto, and if Discord were to adopt them, no moral way to support Discord.

I do not support Discord entering cryptocurrency or NFT markets that are directly harmful to the environment. NFT's are largely populated by artwork stolen from the actual creators and still, are an attempt to make a false scarcity for digital items, which are bought and sold with crypto currency, and also suck. I will be cancelling my nitro and will be looking for another platform should they go through with this.

I've already cancelled my nitro and extra boost and I won't even consider going back unless this is dead and buried. There *are* alternatives to Discord and I will migrate if I have to because this isn't something I'm willing to support. Do better Discord.
And OP? Do some research or at least admit you're fine with ruining the planet.

NFTs and Crypto are a disgusting and illegal pyramid scheme and are destroying the financial lives of millions. Involving Discord in this scam is massive negligence and -will- be the downfall of this platform. I'm baffled that your lawyers are so inept that they haven't put a stop to this already, there's a reason Facebook hasn't integrated crypto into it's many many ridiculous features. Facebook actually has a good legal team.
This isn't about "the environment" anymore, this is about the survival of this platform. By integrating crypto, Discord will be complicit in exposing and encouraging their millions of users into to involving themselves with felonies. Crypto exchanges are now taxed just the same as stocks, at least in the United States. Should Discord be used anywhere in the process where a user "didn't know they had to report their 10k crypto profit on their taxes" the IRS will be asking some questions. Then there's the case of scams and pyramid schemes that are rampant in the NFT sphere, this opens you up to be liable for potential lawsuits.
Adding crypto integration will get you extra hype boys on your side and a few happy users, but it's just not worth it. Don't be fools, don't kill this platform for us.

Getting involved in this massively environmentally destructive pyramid scheme and scam is a HUGE mistake. I've cancelled my Nitro sub and if this "feature" is implemented, I will find another chat service.

my subscription is canceled and I've already gotten several others to do the same. I know discord already loses money to keep operating, gonna suck to see those numbers dip even harder from the mass nitro loss

Do you have a death wish? Do you truly understand how much energy it takes to calculate every transaction on the blockchain, how much environmental damage that causes, how much stress that puts on supply chains, and how much worse it will get the more people buy into this BS?
