I need to open Fidder in order to open Discord
I'm using Discord desktop app on Windows 11.
I'm not sure what's the cause of this (and I didn't figure out how to get more diagnostic info out of it), but if I directly open Discord without any configuration, it will get stuck on the "CHECKING FOR UPDATES" splash screen. If I wait for enough time, I can even see the failure retry message.
Now if I close Discord, open Fidder, then open Discord again, then everything works. Discord loads and after the main window shows, I can even close Fiddler and everything continues to work.
I'm not sure what's the magic. I didn't turn on "Capture HTTPS traffic" option in Fiddler.
I've tried to find a "Proxy settings" from Discord app but I didn't find any, so I don't know exactly what could be the cause.
Other apps on my system (including node-js based apps such as VSCode) connects to Internet without any issue.
Do you have any suggestion on how I can find more information to troubleshoot the issue? I won't mind if you offer me some suggestions that might look hard-core. Thanks!
