Feature Request: "Message Breaks" for Discord Servers
Many server owners & staff members know the pattern of having to place an image before a big announcement; or the struggle of not being able to edit an image after it's been posted. There's a process to it, and everyone does it at some point, so why not make a feature that's easier?
I propose a solution! Drum roll please...
Message Breaks! (The name is a work-in-progress)
Page Breaks are an integral part of every website, document, & newsletter, so why not bring it to Discord too? "Message Breaks" would be the same idea as a Page Break; it will cover the entire section of wherever it is inserted, either above a message after it is posted & can be removed or added again whenever or during the creation of a message (refer to Making Your Break for a better explanation of how this can work). This could be used to announce different events, make the rules stylish, or mark exciting milestones!
Let's get into the nitty-gritty of this idea!
- Permissions
Only members with the "Administrator" permission or permissions enabled for "Create Message Breaks" and/or "Edit Message Breaks" can create & edit this feature, members cannot interact with it (i.e., no reactions, threads, or replies can be added to the "Break" specifically; however, if posted in a full line of text, the overall message can still be interacted with). If a channel is marked as Announcements or Rules that would be the only time "Breaks" are available.
- Making Your Break
Creating a "Message Break" would open a windowed menu for the uploading of the image, recommended sizes for the image & providing small visual examples. If a "Break" is used during the creation of a message, it would be added depending on where your cursor is placed; if your cursor is before a line of text, it is added over said line, and at the end it's moved below. If created after a message is posted, it will be above by default.
- Audit Logging
Logged as "Create Break", "Update Break", & "Delete Break". *Individual "Breaks" can be edited by anyone with the proper permissions, the logs of a specific "Break" that was edited would show all of the members that took part in it and when their edits were made. If used in a full message, only the person that created the message can edit it.
- Visuals
I've made some examples below to give an idea what it would look like, both for Mobile and Desktop users.
Note: The size of the image within the "Break" would scale in correspondence to what device you're on.

Thanks for reading! If you have any suggestions about how to make this idea better, it would be greatly appreciated for you to post them here! You could say this would be a pretty big "break"-through for everyone.
