Please do not implement the unique Discord username @ system
One of Discord's best and most unique features is the ability to have usernames with exactly what I want; I loathe having to fight for unique usernames, and for the period when I had Discord Nitro I also really enjoyed being able to change my username and associated #### as I liked.
Both of these features will be wiped with the planned Discord username system change. Requiring unique username @'s will stifle creativity (I fondly remember my servermates and I all imitating one of our friends, down to the username and ####'s each incremented 1 apart) and decrease user enjoyment of the platform. Additionally, Discord's current username system makes it really identifiable as Discord; telling someone my username is @username is totally unremarkable as to what platform it's for, whereas telling someone my username is username#0001 immediately marks it as a Discord username.
Removing the ability to pick your own username and #### will be a significant downgrade in user creativity and enjoyment, as well as removing one of the features that makes Discord, Discord. Please reconsider this decision.

I agree, We don't need the new Username system. This is what makes Discord Unique.
I don't want another TikTok or Instagram, I want Discord.
