Allow us to ban any Discord user, regardless if they are currently a server member
At the moment we can ban people that misbehave on our servers, however, there is no way to ban people that are not members of that specific server, nor people misbehaving on DMs.
I currently run or mod multiple communities on Discord and I would love to be able to ban people on all of my communities at once, regardless if they are currently a member of that specific server or not.
For example, the could be added a "ban by name" (including number tag) feature to the Server Settings > Bans page.
My own notes that, some people may not agree on:
I'm fine copy-pasting the username to all the servers if needed.
While harder to find, I personally would even be fine with "ban by user id".

You can by using a bot using hackban.

Yes, most moderation capable bots can at least do the copy-paste "ban by name". However, for example, there are valid reasons why some servers do not want to add any bots.
I see it as an essential Discord feature.

This is a good feature request, however, for the time being that this isn't implemented, try:
Going through tour server's moderation settings, and heighten some stuff to make it more difficult for trolls to join.
I suggest setting the verification level to Highest, or at least High.
It would also be smart to activate the content filter.
