Pause text channels to reply to messages

If there are a lot of text messages and the chat is extremely fast, I would like to be able to pause the chat so that I can better reply to messages. As well as the BetterTTV extension from Twitch, which makes it possible if you move the mouse pointer over the chat or press "ALT", then the chat also pauses.

    If you're talking about keeping anyone from chatting in a text channel, you can already do that with most moderation bots or by just denying the permission to chat in a channel. If you just want to lock your view on a couple of messages, you can already scroll up and lock on to a part of the chat.

    I get what you're saying now. You want to end auto-scrolling on a client's end.

    You can already do that by scrolling up and down. Scrolling to the bottom will turn auto-scroll on, going above that point keeps it off.
