Application selection on Android.

In the newer versions of the app I appear to not have a option when selecting a file to share (pictures or videos) to select what app I'd like to use to do it, it just automatically opens Files, so where I'd normally use Gallery for pictures and Files for videos, I can no longer use gallery. I made a support ticket for this already and came to the conclusion it is the app not the device. Is there anyway this could please be fixed in the near future? Thank you.

    I'm having the same issue and it's really frustrating. I tried meddling with the app permissions and to no avail, so I'm completely lost on what the issue is.

    It is a issue caused by update. No fixing it unless you can download a older form of the app.

    I am having the same problem, I have tried everything including reinstalling all the affected apps but no luck.

    Also having this issue on an essential ph-1. It gives me the option of using the files app, or a pixel art drawing app I also have installed, but no option for google photos.
