My idea of how to organize role permissions better
Hello Discord.
I own a community on Discord that is doing really well at the moment. From this, I'm currently trying to acquire a well-suited moderating team.
I want my Moderators to be able to give roles below their own to people, while not being able to manage any of the roles as such, letting them create roles, delete roles, changing permissions of roles, etc.
A way to do this would be to have permission on roles called "Allow anyone to give specific roles", meaning that anyone who possesses a role with that permission can give roles below their own that have a "Give role" permission enabled. The "Give role" permission, should also be on all roles and if that is enabled, it means that that role can be given to others by the people who possess a role with the "Allow anyone to give specific roles" permission. I know it sounds complicated but I hope you understood, that was the best way I could describe it.
By having this as a feature on the Discord platform, I think it can help server owners or admins modifying the permissions of all roles better in their community as some people (including me) only want their Moderators to be able to give roles but not manage them.
Hope you liked my idea. Thanks for your time reading this!
I wish you a good continued day to you, dear Discord user. :D
