Self message not automatically marked as read

It is apparent that sometimes when leaving a channel I send a message on too quickly, it will not be automatically considered as read, depsite having sent it myself, thus theoretically having read what is being said. Without knowing whether this is on the server's end or the client's end, this could see an improvement.

Even assuming that it is a problem on the server's side, it further improves performance by not having to send a request that the message has been read, at the cost of performing a single check for the message's author, slightly reducing stress on the database/cache.
