Add a Public Age Metrics displayed for every user

"Public Age Metrics", what the hell is this guy talking about? Hear me out.

I'm sure most of us adults in the platform can understand the big problem surrounding Discord. The accesibility for underage users to NSFW content. By faking their age, hiding it, not being responsible about it. And on the other side, a very bad custom of never asking for it! Both sides are to blame, but underages can't really, because it's not up to them to be responsible, it's up to adults.

Now, this all started with the platform's birth. When I was 15, 16, I was in school, normal nerd in my little group of geeks, we used Whatsapp, Steam, Discord was nonexistant to us and so we didn't have this worldwide community platform where you can find so many friends from around the world so easily. We had great fun without endangering ourselves to the people of the internet by using these limited platforms.

Nowadays, kids of that age, do go in Discord, do get access to this worldwide "openness".

Now, back in topic, first of all: ASK FOR AGE.
That's right, as adults, subceptible to 18+ stuff or not, we should be sure to identify the ages of the strangers we meet. But then you tell me: I can't ask EVERYONE their age all the time, can I?
And I say, look, it's not really me telling you this, it's the LAW, it's your own safety! But guess what, I guess you're right. People do have wrong stupid views and they see people who ask for age as bummers, scaredy, up to no good, like if they wanted the answer to be less than 18. Really wrong views! What's the current solution? Only asking a few people, when you remember to do so.

Which is just. Dangerous. An incomplete security system.

What has been the common request towards this problem?
"Add a badge that displays people's age!"
That's so easy to fake and you know it. We really CAN'T let it be up to people's choice.

You know what my answer is? It's in the title!
Public. Age. Metrics.

Let me define what I mean:
Let Server Mods and normal users MARK other people's ages.
(and wait wait! before you shout at me!)
When someone sets someone else's age, it's added as a vote towards a new section in that person's profile. The Public Age Metric section inside the full view of a discord profile is a sort of graph that displays the hotzone of the profile's voted ages. It doesn't display their age as a number, but as a graph, essentially chosen by people.
Now, whether what people who voted might be telling the truth or not, with time, I'm sure you could agree with me, with time, honest votes will come to light as the hotzone surrounding the person's true age. These will be the dots of the votes from people who heard that person say their age, or claim an age when they were telling the truth. From real friends trying to do good for that person's own good and safety on the internet.

Votes are anonymous. Mod or admin votes should count as bigger votes than normal users joking around. And, it will become a way to see people's ages without needing to ask.

I know asking is the right way, the way I go, the way I want you to go by, but. Time. Honesty. Context. Proximity. Many things are at play that makes it complicated for some more than others.

I really hope you consider it.

I did talk about this by explaining Time is the testament here. With time and votes piling over the account, not only can you display a sort of proof that you're experienced in the platform, the hotzones in the graph WILL indicate around your real age. You'd have to be actively, very suspiciously and being obvious, TRYING hard to convince people you're an age you are not to have a "joke age" most voted in the graph.

This is why the matter is serious. And displaying age doesn't help pedos, it acts against them. Discord allows ages 14 and onward; underaged users of discord ARE intelligent enough to check that someone flirting with them isn't underage thanks to the graph, and will have a red flag on them! A new policy will be accustomed, don't engage in such ways with people who don't have enough votes.
