Thread Muting/Auto following
So a server I'm in is beginning to use Threads, and I'd like to make good use of the function. But I've come across some issues with the way it works.
- I've found that I cannot mute a thread on my PC, but I can do so on my phone. Others seem to be able to do it, so this is likely a bug with my version or something; Stable 226220 (6d95606). I've even cleared the cache.
- When a thread is muted (Via my phone), that thread is automatically followed and will show up in the left column (On PC). I've found a workaround for this by having the server option “Hide Muted Channels” enabled. However, this only works for 3 threads, then the 4th one doesn't pop-up for a split second like the other 3, and a 5th one will pop up but not be muted.
- Let's say I just leave threads unmuted. Now any message that shows up in any of the threads will pop-up on the left next to the parent channel, like a “You have X new messages” beacon. This itself isn't really an issue, but it is for me personally because I'm gonna want to open it to see what it is, or right-click and “mark as read” just to try and ignore it.
So with these being said, here's how I'd like to see the threads feature being improved upon.
- Being able to mute an individual thread via PC.
- Muting threads I'm not interested in does not make me follow them or show them in the left column.
- (A request via another in the server, not my own thoughts) Have a right-click or check box for the parent thread channel that prioritizes syncing between devices, preventing one from overwriting another.
