new layout is completely counterintuitive and inaccessible

I understand freshening up your look, but this is completely counter intuitive. Changing the location of the DMs is horrible because you used to be able to look up in at the corner in a glance to be able to see whos messaging you was honestly one of the best features ive seen in a messaging app. it let you know who was messaging you at a glance. Now, theres a tiny little red mark that you can completely miss. This is completely inaccessible for people who have vision issues who often relied on the larger images to know if someone was trying to contact them. You used to be able to swipe to be able to see whos online and now you have to tap at the top, which is hard when you have joint issues like me and is much harder when you want to take a quick glance and you have a larger phone, which is common in the newer phones. Not only that, but when youre muted and deafened, the icons are red which makes it look like youre serve muted.

tldr: The new update is completely inaccessible especially to those with vision issues and limited mobility.

THIS! I have pretty bad astigmatism AND I get migraines from using light mode, the old UI's dark mode had a nice balance between the two that allowed me to ACTUALLY USE THE PLATFORM. Now with the increased contrast of the new dark mode I can barely read anything due to halation from my astigmatism, but I also can't use light mode without triggering a migraine. This update has actively made the platform borderline unusable for myself and undoubtedly many others with similar issues.

Exactly. Not only is it terrible UI design from a general user standpoint, but also for any disabled people who use the app.
