The new App UI
Just wanted to add my honey to the pot.
This new UI update which was forced upon me is completely garbage. I have lost my interest in the new discord mobile app as the layout is completely illogical. I can't even see any notifications on the server side as long as I'm in my DMs and vice versa. I always have been and always will be a fan of dark mode but the dark mode in the updated UI is somehow just wrong. Overall the layout, accessibility, visual appeal are now complete garbage after this update.
I have already left a negative review in Google Play and the developers just said go make a post. You're damn right I'll make a post. Me and hundreds of other people who have enough passion about discord to go take the time out of their days to share their opinion about the new app on these forums.
The reason why I got hooked to discord in the first place was that the PC app and mobile app were basically the same, and I've loved that layout from the beginning. This is not just a matter of “getting used to the new layout” its a matter of accessibility, visual appeal, ease of use.
TLDR: BRING THE OLD UI BACK THIS NEW ONE SUCKS

I fully concur. This is the single worst UI update to a mobile app on any platform I have ever seen.
- The layout is illogical. The bottom bar takes up real-estate space, the message screen is over populated on the top and generally illogical.- Key functionality was changed (such as swiping and how to bring up member lists) or removed (such as the ability to use global server search features from any channel). Long holds of channels do not bring up all options for some roles, Even as a server owner, edit channel is bugged and brings up notification settings.
- Pinned embeds don't display in pins (provided you can get a user to find where pins are now buried).
- Message settings are reset for many users.
These are just a few of the most annoying to me (I know others have many more), and frankly I stopped looking because its immensely frustrating, I pretty much need to do anything meaningful on desktop now. Discord will lose users over this, and they should. Its terrible and they should at least provide an option to revert.
This is not a “oh the users don't like change, they will get used to it” things … this is breaking critical pieces of an app that was largely fine.
I hope discord listens to its user base on this one…because this was an absolutely terrible update!8 -
