Mobile UI Changes

I have used Discord as my primary messaging app for a long time now. I have muscle memory for using Discord, which was quite intuitive, and greatly appreciated that it was the same between the mobile version and the computer version. I loved that the search function and ability to see online users was on one side and DMs and servers were on the other. Message previews (including media) in the search function made it so much faster to find things or just to reminisce sometimes.

The fact that it jumps to the message without a preview makes it a million times harder to find anything without having to constantly start over the search. I keep accidentally starting a reply to messages when I just want to know who is online. Whatever it is that is clogging the top of the screen in the DMs tab makes me want to pull my hair out. The servers section is a hassle to get to now that they've been entirely separated from DMs.

When my app updated (without my permission, as I have auto-updates off) I was so infuriated I had to shut my phone off. I know many other users who agree that this update is hostile and the complete opposite of user-friendly. This undoes years of muscle memory and I'm at a loss as to who approved this change. It's a complete eyesore, and nothing that it brought to the table can even remotely justify the complete interface overhaul

I'll be cancelling my Nitro subscription imminently. If any users can point me in the direction of an app that resembles old Discord, please let me know. I'm so upset about this.
