I don’t like the new Discord Mobile UI update

I have used the mobile Discord app for a long time, ever since the day I joined in 2017. The layout was easy for me to understand, even if it took a bit to get used to it, I liked it because it was different than the other apps I used. It felt intuitive and connected to desktop in a way a lot of apps just weren’t. 

But now.. that all changed with the latest mobile update in December 2023. The interface is not snappy or intuitive anymore, everything got shuffled around and harder to access. DMs take more time to access, when before it was a swipe and a tap away. The app feels slower and has more lag. 

I am not a fan of the members list being moved to the search bar, it was once a swipe away to see who was online and what everyone was up to. Pinned messages are now one sentence long rather than the full message. There is just so much wrong with this update that makes it harder to appreciate some of the better things they’ve added. The new “dark” mode isn’t easy on my eyes at all and makes it hard to look at for long periods of time, the color used to be soothing and more muted. 

As a long time Discord user, this update has disappointed me in more ways than one. I really hope you consider your userbase and come up with better solutions for the mobile app, or allow us a way to change back to the older layout. Thank you.
