**ACTUAL** issues with the new mobile layout.
I get that the new UI is new and is still unstable, seeing that it's not just a simple reskin. But I would still like to point out the issues regarding it.
This post will be less on complaints because I'm not used to the new interface (the new UI is aesthetically pleasing in my opinion), but is instead more on the actual issues that discord should pay attention to regarding the new layout.
Here are the issues that I'm sure will be fixed someday but discord should still pay attention to.
- It's slow for some devices, my friends claim that switching channels take longer.
- We found issues where the user sends photos and videos to the wrong DM/Channel despite being in the correct chat.
- It does not work for my iPadOS 16. (I beg discord to just make it a reskin of the original for this edition.)
- The search function is laggy.
And here are the issues that is inconveniencing despite seeming to be intentional.
- The search function no longer makes a preview of images.
- The search function launches you to the message itself rather than giving a preview like the previous discord layout. (Fixed)
- It no longer autocompletes search filters and you instead have to click a button to actually make it work. (I get why this was added but I think it's better to let the users decide whether they want it to work like the old discord layout or the new one.)
- The search function no longer does things by pages, and it is just one page and you scroll endlessly. (If this is the way discord wants to fix the “Drop the magnifying glass” problem, then I suggest it just be one page except it is separated by section, and you can just travel to it as you would a page, except it launches you to that section.)
- There were also reports of people with astigmatism and such disorders being bothered and inconvenienced by the darker UI, causing negative reactions. (I think discord should allow the old theme to be one of the available themes.)
- Users are not able to adjust a stream’s volume.
- Chats are being delivered to AI in order for the summarization to work, causing security issues. (The summarize feature could have its uses, but to be sacrificing privacy just for this feature to work, it's just not worth it. It does more harm than good.)

Thank you for this post. I was so appalled by the update I didn't bother to spend more time finding issues other than inconveniences.
The literal borderline unusability of this update should be addressed first and foremost

While the new appearance isn't completely awful, it is still another issue to be addressed. A lot of people have experienced physical and/or mental ailments in relation to it: panic, headache, and nausea are one's I've seen… and experienced myself. It's a major issue with accessibility and makes the app literally unusable for some just from its appearance.

When im trying to send pictures on ANY server dc decides to send them into private conversations! I send one meme to a random person with i havent talk for a week THREE TIMES trying to send it on a server meme channel with various attemps. It just wont let me post ANY photos on ANY server with ANY way! Its just outrageous.

Ok so no i dont like the changes at all. Whenever I swap to an account that has these UI changes, I CANT PLAY VIDEOS AT ALL. Like they just wont play, I have no clue if its because of the UI Update or what, they REFUSE to play on my end. What has discord even become…

I can concur on the slowness. I am on an older Android device (Snapdragon 730G) and it takes at least 2 seconds to swap between messages and servers. The old app was extremely responsive. I can understand 300-500ms, but 2 seconds is absurd in this day and age. What the heck is this new UI doing that makes it this incredibly slow?
