Re-enable the layout toggle and keep it that way like you guys said you would.
I do not like how the new layout was shipped incomplete and forced upon us. I couldn't care less if the old layout was a mess held up by duct tape. You people literally said in a reddit comment 8 months ago, and I quote, “You'll have the option to opt-out for the foreseeable future. We really care about making this experience work for everyone - power users, new users, users who have a11y needs.” - tnr_at_discord

This new layout was not done cooking at all. It is undercooked. You gave us uncooked meat. It's giving everyone digital salmonella. Re-enable the layout toggle until you can get your bugs fixed and some additional features added to make it look more appetizing. At the time of writing, the text box lower bar shows up when viewing an image for some reason, there is no reason why “jump to message” should be an option when looking at an image when the message was already on-screen and we had to tap the image in the message to see it better, channel mentions were broken, the newer dark-mode color is hurting people's eyes, you have to re-type your search every time you look away from it, sometimes it bugs out and doesn't let you send images/files in the same channel you are speaking in, etc. I'm sure there's more that I haven't discovered.
If you guys are very intent on not letting us toggle back to the old (and still better) layout, at the very least let us toggle the swipe to reply to be what it used to be: the user list and channel features. The thing that you now have to tap the channel name to access. I'm so used to swiping for that list in my moderation work that I keep getting thrown off.
Another thing you could do is add the ability for us to change fonts.
And for the love of all that is holy please add a function that allows us to favorite gifs on mobile. I'm really effing confused why this hasn't happened yet. It's been two years since gifs were added to desktop and a bit more recent than that since mobile also finally got access to that. We've been able to favorite gifs since it got fully implemented on desktop. WHY DO WE STILL NOT HAVE IT ON MOBILE?!

Swipe to reply is deeply unhelpful and unnecessary. I need to see the channel information, I do not need to reply to messages.

Not to mention the update to the dark mode that makes the app unusable for me and others like me. It caused a migraine within just a couple minutes of trying to use it.

Those are the basic problems that users often encounter slope when using this application, hopefully there will soon be new updated versions to fix those problems.
