Improvements to the Members list (anti-scam features)
I opened a ticket on this (Ticket 41448161), but Discord Support insisted I use feedback.discord.com to report these feature requests instead. Sadly, they did not state which category this should go in (Community Features vs. Account & Server Management) so I chose the latter.
I'd like to request a couple minor features to the Members feature (desktop/web) that was rolled out. The feature I'm talking about is available to moderators/admins of Discord servers – the thing called "Members" underneath "Channels & Roles".
1. The "Signals" column only offers two filters: Unusual DM Activity and Timed Out. However, in recent days Discord has added several more conditions/traits (all of which are GREAT!), but there is no way to filter on those traits. Those recent traits are one that is labelled "Engaged in suspected spam activity", and another one whose name I forget but it amounts to the user being quarantined due to something in their name/profile/whatever. These are all separate traits, and it would be wonderful to filter on them -- it would make my life as moderator of a 17.5k user server much better. Otherwise, I'm forced to go through hundreds of pages and scan them by hand (yes, even with a quantity 100 setting).
2. The search feature in Members is wonky at best. For example, if I search for the word "admin" on our server, I get back 2 results: username "oxxigeno07" with a display name of "AD", and username ai_ai69 with a display name of "AI". Neither users' profiles have the word "admin" in them, or anything else. What I believe is happening is that the search box is looking for combinations of letters -- in this case, "ad" of "admin" pulls up user "AD, and the "a" and "i" of "admin" pull up user "AI". Why it doesn't pull up OTHER users with those combo of letters is beyond me. But this isn't logical at all for a search engine.
3. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the ability to search for words/things inside of users' profiles (e.g. "About Me"). We have tons of scammers that put things like "MOD | ADMIN" in there, and I would love to be able to find those jerks with a search somewhere, preferably in Members. Maybe implement keyword prefixes, something like how the normal Discord search feature works? E.g. about:mod would search those fields.
4. I would love it if there was a way to show actual timestamps of when an account was made on Discord and when they joined Discord. This is available right now in the Member Since and Joined Discord columns... except they are too vague ("6 days ago" or "1 year ago" is not helpful). To get an actual timestamp, you have to hover/mouseover the column field. Why this sucks: most scammers will make multiple accounts within a few minutes of each other, and it would be super useful to see ACTUAL TIMESTAMPS in these columns (in ISO8601 format) so that I could quickly tell who all joined at once (or within minutes of one another) + who all made accounts (within minutes of one another).
5. Please add the “Showing N members” and Back/ N … N+1 … / Next navigation bar (currently at the bottom of the member list) to the top of the member list as well. Why: when using something like a quantity of 100, it becomes very annoying to have to scroll all the way up (review), then once again all the way back down just to get to the next page of navigation.
These are just 5 features I'd like to see implemented. I have plenty, PLENTY more. Please forward these to your engineering teams -- I already know you can't guarantee implementation
of any of them, but your dev teams need to see this feedback.
