Account and data deletion
Uhh, tbh anonymizing data isn’t enough at all, it’s so easy to recognize a person even if their account is deleted and have acces to their shit or infos they might’ve said, plus there’s minors, and the amount of shit we’ve said, it’s really not safe to keep it around, and it could be used against later, and the « context » argument is shitty, like it will always bring issues that like happened in 2017 especially even if it has been handled or something, when you delete a message I heavily doubt discord make it actually disappear from their server, so idk why they pull up also with the « mass deletion of messages could lead to the malfunction of discord » they still have acces to that data anyways, so why not hide messages from deleted accounts so they can keep it for them, like users cannot see them anymore but only the people who works or the support members can see it.
( btw i don’t want people under that post saying « bUt AnOnymIzin is Egoughhhh » no it isn’t at all except if you rarely use that app and always make sure to not say crap or your personal info/situation, but it’s rarely the case )
And I don’t think Discord support would like to be spammed with gdpr requests in their mail boxes, so

I agree. Their “anonymization” of deleted accounts is not sufficient at all. There are a bunch of reasons for it: unique color default PFP, unique name if the account was deleted while still having a four-digit tag, date and year of account creation still displayed, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY - YOUR DELETED ACCOUNT RETAINS ITS UNIQUE ID THAT CAN PROVE TWO DIFFERENT MESSAGES SENT ANYWHERE IN DISCORD ARE SENT BY THE SAME ACCOUNT. There are many reasons why one may not delete their messages, and I have gone through the effort of explaining them through a feedback post I made a few days ago. In it I also explaining why I believe it's detrimental that Discord fully deletes any information tied to deleted accounts, such as all messages and the aforementioned data still publicly tied to your deleted account. Many people have demanded such changes.
