that one discord update, n’ how literally no one likes it

a few friends of mine got the new update and, like everyone else, no one likes it. the new theme’s a pain to look at, the grey color was so much better especially for neurodivergent people with sensitive eyes (words from a friend of mine, not me). not everyone wants to get nitro for the other themes either. navigating is way harder than before, the app looks like an instagram + youtube mix with most buttons and the interface being round, the notifications now SUMMARIZE instead of just showing who said what (which is completely unnecessary, honestly, like we dont wanna know who’s talking about what, we wanna know WHAT they said, specifically, like dm notifications. like, what???) also the swipe left to reply instead of seeing the member list, also completely unnecessary, you could already hold onto a message and reply. the app was already simple, now its so oversimplified its complex. there’s a limit!

overall the LOOK isn’t bad, but there should be an option to bring back the old UI, or better— just don’t change it! aren’t these things supposed to be tested with other users before their official release too?? 

also another thing I’d like to add, searching for images. now you can’t see images anymore nor can you get a preview before confirmation. which in some cases is even kinda not safe??? and discord’s supposed to be safer at this point.
