Add a method to change the email on your account without access to the current email
Hello everyone, I would like to tell my story here. My email service provider deleted my email accounts without any warning, and it is not possible to recover them. I was able to change over pretty much all of the emails on my other accounts, except for Discord. They refused to let me change the email on my account. I tried contacting support, and they simply told me to create a new account, which I refuse to do, because I have had this account for nearly 6 years and I am not starting over again. I remember that you used to be able to change the email on your account by simply entering your password, and then after that changed I think you used to be able to contact support and they would help you. Not anymore. I think that this is quite stupid, because I still have access to the phone number on my account, why can't I change the email using that, or some other method. They need to have a method to change the email without access to the old email. I have read many posts on this website where other users have had the exact same problem I am having. Many people agree with my point that it is stupid that they have no method to change the email. If they do not allow me to change the email on my account, I am probably going to quit using Discord entirely, because of their incompetence when it comes to adding basic features such as this one.

This just recently happened to me, as well, and after going through the whole system of both contacting Discord Support, and my email's support team, I'm almost left with no options.
My email address that was linked to my discord was hacked into. Naturally, I panicked and deleted the account without really thinking, and didn't realize my Discord was linked to this email. I thought, “Oh, not a big deal, I'll be able to change the address that's registered with Discord…” No, not true. The only way they're saying to change email address is to follow the link that they sent to the old email. MY ACCOUNT WAS DELETED. My email provider is unable to recover it after deletion. It's permanent. And Discord seems to not want to take any other form of authentication (listing my friends, messages, phone #, etc.)
Now, after all that, I did go ahead and make a new account, only to find out that I can't get my old username back. VERY FRUSTRATING. I'm heartbroken

Yes, it's very frustrating isn't it. I also tried everything. Because my email provider took my email accounts offline without warning, there was no time to change the email over on my account. I contacted my email provider's support and they did nothing and said it was not possible to recover the inactive email accounts. Discord support did nothing as well and told me that my “best bet would be to create a new account”, even though I also have proof that I own it such as a phone number etc. I am extremely disappointed in Discord for not adding such a basic feature. Being able to change the email on your account if the current one goes offline should be a requirement for all websites/programs which require you to create an account to use their services. I still have not switched to using a new Discord account, and I will probably quit using Discord soon, unless they let me change the inactive email on my account.
