Request to expand role limit

As most of you are already aware, The current role limit cap on discord is 250 

This post is a request to increase the role limit. To Discord's benefit, I believe the majority of users wouldn't mind if it were increased via server boosts.

Server boost level 1: 50

Server boost level 2: 100

Server boost level 3: 100

which creates an whooping 250 extra roles for the server, I fully understand that roles are primarily intended for management purposes, but we must also recognize the thousands of other servers that utilize roles for labelling, levelling, rewarding, and profile enhancement.

Sadly 250 is not enough simply cause the following below is a must have and we cannot do anything about it

  • Levelling roles 10-15 roles
  • the roles that belongs to bots (this role is managed by an integration) 
  • colors
  • Staff roles
  • ASL roles to identify users. 

These roles alone easily occupy approximately 100 roles within the capacity limit, leaving server owners with only 150 roles to innovate, create, and reward.

I am making this post on behalf of all community servers, roleplay servers, and other servers that utilize roles not just for server management, but also for labelling, rewarding, and providing options for their members.

As a server owner, I feel constrained in my ability to work on my server as intended. I sense that I am being hindered by limitations and find it challenging to further enhance the server. 


I invite all of you who are currently reading this post to make a difference by supporting the request by voting on it. Even if you do not require 250 roles, I would like to extend my invitation to all server owners to support this request and assist to reach discord HQ
