Anonymous in Discord vs Anonymous in a Group
Hi, we are dealing with Mental Health conversations and teachings. Unfortunately, the “anonymous” feature Discord has is not sufficient. There is a BIG difference between signing up to Discord with a fake name/picture vs signing up with your real information and THEN being allowed to be anonymous after that (make a fake avatar name/picture).
We need to be able to tell who each of our members are to make sure they are accountable for any bullying or “bad” behaviour (breaking rules in our group). BUT each member MUST be 100% anonymous to everyone else in the group.
Mental Health conversations can NOT be had on a bigger scale UNLESS people can do so without fear of reprimand, bullying, or feeling attacked. We have people in our groups that work and live together. They can NOT be expected to share their deepest, darkest thoughts and feelings if their coworkers, friends, and family know who they are. Very few will feel safe as they KNOW what they say can be used against them.
Because of this we can NOT use Discord.
