Version history for ToS, Privacy policy etc
tl:dr; use git or other version history program for legal documents to enable diffs between updates.
long version;
I haven't found any posts after a fairly extensive search that detail this feedback, so here goes.
As a person that reads ToS, Privacy policies etc, I think a version history like git would be advantageous for discord to use for their terms. This would enable the use of diff tools to highlight only portions of the legal documents that have changed. These differences carry the advantages of:
* most likely much shorter than the new terms (--> larger audience)
* are verbatim the legal documents, unlike a “summarizing” post that might be posted in addition to a update to eg ToS and that which does not carry legal standing.
* are automatic, unlike a “summarizing” post which has to be curated by a human.
