Show friend nicknames on mobile notifications?

A couple of years ago Discord introduced the ability to assign friend nicknames that show up locally when you are in a direct message with a friend or looking at their profile. This friend nickname is what shows up both in-client and on desktop notifications. The one exception is mobile notifications, where a direct message from somebody who you have a friend nickname set for will come through with their display name instead.

For consistency's sake, and to avoid some confusion, I think it would be great if the friend nickname was what showed up on mobile notifications for direct messages. I've spoken with Discord support and apparently the current behavior is intended, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
